| Summary: | The purpose of this article is to describe the «modeling» that Dr. Pedro Morales, S.J. has done in the training of university professors at Rafael Landívar University, during the thirty-four years of his presence in Guatemala and the region, as well as the impact that he has managed to have among the professors of the different areas of knowledge and regional branches of the University. As a framework, it begins with a description of the characteristics, from the conception of various authors, that the «good university teacher» must possess. Next, important aspects of teacher training within higher education institutions and their influence to achieve the ideal teacher profile are pointed out. The article ends with an approach to modeling from different points of view. Este artículo tiene como propósito describir el «modelaje» que ha realizado el Dr. Pedro Morales, S.J. en la formación de docentes universitarios de la Universidad Rafael Landívar, durante los treinta y cuatro años de su presencia en Guatemala y la región, así como el impacto que ha logrado tener entre los profesores de las distintas áreas del saber y presencias regionales de la Universidad. Como marco, se inicia con una descripción de las características, que, desde la concepción de varios autores, debe poseer el «buen docente» universitario. A continuación, se señalan aspectos importantes de la formación de docentes dentro de las instituciones de educación superior y su influencia para alcanzar el perfil de profesor ideal, finalizando con un abordaje sobre el modelaje desde distintos puntos de vista. |
