| Summary: | The present paper reviews the main characteristics that define the educational paradigm in which the new European Framework for Higher Education is integrated and their impact on the role played by university teachers. To this effect, we identify a series of competences that university teachers must develop in order to face the challenge of the new methodologies and assessment systems promoted by this new educational approach. This paper also describes the way the students of the Universidad P. Comillas of Madrid view their good teachers. Finally, a reflection is made on the need to reassess and professionalize teaching at universities, undervalued in the last decades due to the higher degree of prestige ascribed to research amongst academics. El artículo que presentamos a continuación resume las características fundamentales que definen el paradigma educativo en el que se integra el nuevo marco europeo de Educación Superior y cómo éstas interfieren en el rol que debe asumir el profesorado universitario. Para ello, concretamos algunas competencias que deben ser desplegadas por los profesores universitarios para asumir el reto que suponen las nuevas metodologías y sistemas de evaluación que propugna este nuevo enfoque educativo. También se ofrece la visión que tienen los alumnos de la Universidad P. Comillas de Madrid de sus buenos docentes y finaliza con una reflexión sobre la necesidad de revalorizar y profesionalizar la docencia universitaria, que se ha visto infravalorada en las últimas décadas por el mayor prestigio que tiene la investigación en el profesorado. |
