| Summary: | In this work we study the contemporary history of the Society of Jesus in Zamora since installed a second time in the diocese in 1964. After an initial periodof fifty-six years in the XVIII century and attending teaching projects of spirituality, the Jesuits resumed in the XX century the first of these activities in the form of junior college. According to its charitable teaching character, this institution was designed to allow an education to adolescents in Zamora, mostly from rural andpoor families. Opened with the start of the course in October 1965, this work mainly hosted scholarship students who were distinguished by the Ignatian educational charism of the Jesuits steeped who attended the center for thirty-five years. Due to the lack of religious vocations in the order and modified the original purpose of the center, the Company, as it is known, eliminated the community and junior college closed in summer 2000. En este trabajo abordamos la historia contemporánea de la Compañía de Jesús en Zamora desde que se instalara por segunda vez en la diócesis en 1964. Tras una primera etapa de cincuenta y seis años en el siglo XVIII atendiendo obras educativas y de espiritualidad, los jesuitas retomaron en pleno siglo XX la primera de esas actividades en forma de colegio menor. De marcado carácter benéfico-docente, esta institución fue concebida para posibilitar condiciones favorables de educación a adolescentes de la provincia de Zamora, principalmente provenientes del medio rural y de familias humildes. Inaugurada con elcomienzo de curso en octubre de 1965, esta obra acogió fundamentalmentealumnos becarios que fueron distinguidos por el carisma educativo ignacianoimpregnado por los jesuitas que atendieron el centro durante treinta y cinco años. Ante la carencia de efectivos en la orden y modificados los fines originariosdel centro, la Compañía suprimió la comunidad y cerró el colegio menor en verano de 2000. |
