However, broad, unprecedented spaces for young people to participate and commit themselves are opening up, such as those during the Covid-19 pandemic and the Fridays For Future protest. In a polarized society, it is possible to overcome obstacles by cultivating and building new skills - not just cognitive and emotional, but above all deliberative skills - that can lead to decisions through dialogue and confrontation. Schools must take up this challenge by creating in alumni and students not merely a formal notion of citizenship but one based on participation and intercultural exchange, in part through the Civic Education Reform Act of 2019. | ||

La scuola deve raccogliere questa sfida creando negli alunni/studenti - anche attraverso la Legge di riforma dell’educazione civica del 2019 - un senso di cittadinanza non solo formale, ma basata sulla partecipazione e lo scambio interculturale. | ||
