Devaux, now in advanced years, has extracted these manuscript descriptions from 150 volumes of the Catalogue des manuscrits des bibliothèques publiques de France, and also the catalogues of the Bibliothèque nationale de France. The typescript is supplemented and aided by other sources, including extracts from the catalogues of the Bibliothèque nationale made by Dom Palémon Bastin and Dom Amand Degand. Volume 1 contains descriptions of manuscripts from public libraries (arranged alphabetically) from Abbeville to Lyon and volume 2 covers Marseille to Vienne. |
