O humanismo de Tomás de Aquino é uma das propostas mais bem acabadas da filosofia cristã medieval e, ao buscar explicar a individuação do ser humano, aponta o caminho para que a questão seja posteriormente analisada sob outros aspectos. Tomás de Aquino postulou um conceito ontológico de dignidade humana, um conceito que não enfatiza o homem em suas relações sociais, nem tem operacionalidade, mas que deve ter seu mérito atribuído ao medievo. | ||
| 520 | |a The concept of human dignity, in spite of being conceived in the Modern Age, has roots in the Middle Age, observable through the valorization of the human individuality promoted by Christianity. By postulating man as a necessary composition of soul and substance, Christianity assigns man value as an original and unique being, unlike the relation that once existed between man and the Greek polis. Thomas Aquinas’ humanism is one of the most perfectly held propositions among the medieval Christian philosophy and, by trying to explain the individuation of the human being, it points out the path for the matter to be further analyzed under different aspects. Thomas Aquinas postulated an ontological concept of human dignity, a concept that neither emphasizes men on their social relations nor has any operability, but whose merit belongs to the medieval period. | ||
