| Sumario: | The virtues are a central theme in Suárez's ethics or moral philosophy. This article explores his general conception of the ethical virtues as well as their articulation with the intellectual virtues. In showing these two points we cannot avoid the relationship with other scholastic authors, Suárez's continuity with the classical approach and his original contribution. This will help us to continue assessing Suaretian proposal in its proper terms and beyond hasty judgements, its unavoidable Catholic framework and its originality with respect to the Aristotelian-Thomistic tradition. Las virtudes son un tema central en la ética o filosofía moral de Suárez. El presente artículo indaga su concepción general sobre las virtudes éticas así como su articulación con las intelectuales. Al mostrar estos dos puntos no podemos soslayar la relación con otros autores escolásticos, la continuidad de Suárez con el planteamiento clásico y su aporte original. Esto ayudará a seguir valorando en sus justos términos y más allá de juicios apresurados la propuesta suareciana, su marco católico ineludible y su originalidad respecto a la tradición aristotélico-tomista. |
