Description
Summary:The Pss 122; 127 and 132 are structural centres of the so-called Psalms of Ascensions. Through an analysis of the intertextual allusions within the collection and outside the Psalter, in particular with reference to the text of 1 Kings 8, possible references to the figure of Solomon are analysed. On the basis of the hypothesis of a post-exilic redaction of the ascension psalms, the present work tends to show how Solomon constitutes a regal-messianic model suited to the particular historical period, embodying the people’s aspirations for peace and civil and religious harmony. Moreover, the figure of Solomon fits the expectations of a new model of monarchy and a theological vision founded in Zion.
