| Summary: | Two interpretations are given for 'toutois' in Jude:7. Firstly, the demonstrative pronoun is regarded as referring to the angels mentioned in verse 6. Secondly, it is taken to refer to the cities Sodom and Gomorrah or their inhabitants. Especially the prominent use of the demonstrative pronoun in the structure of Jude, as well as the way in which it has been taken over in 2 Peter, leads to a conclusion that 'toutois' in verse 7 does not refer to either of the possibilities traditionally accepted, but to 'tines anthropoi' in verse 4. This conclusion is confirmed by the use of certain catchwords by Jude. |
