| Summary: | Like a prism of many faces, the Jesuit missions present a richness of themes and perspectives. In the case of Japan, evangelization displayed a particular model that marked a turning point that would shape subsequent apostolic projects. In this article, I intend to review some of the main milestones of the presence of the Society of Jesus in Japan: its exclusivity on the island, unlike in other evangelized territories, its degree of integration with the Japanese society, the syncretism of its religious practices, and its close dependence on trade. Como un prisma de muchas caras, las misiones jesuitas presentan una riqueza de temas desde múltiples puntos de vista. En el caso de Japón, la evangelización mostró un modelo particular que marcó un antes y un después en los siguientes proyectos apostólicos. En este artículo me propongo hacer un repaso de algunos de los hitos fundamentales de la presencia de la Compañía de Jesús en Japón: su exclusividad en la isla a diferencia de otros territorios evangelizados, su grado de integración con la sociedad nipona, el sincretismo que se aprecia en el ajuar religioso y su estrecha dependencia con el comercio. |
