The city of Bologna, in possession of the popes, was the place chosen for many of them and there they found a Spanish institution founded by Cardinal Gil de Albornoz centuries ago, the College of San Clemente of the Spaniards. For years the jesuitical world’s relationship with the Spanish College was intense and fluent, but this situation changed due to the regalistic orders from the Court of Spain which depended directly. This article seeks to highlight this relationship and an event of singular importance, until now unknown, the few parents expelled who remained in the city in 1820 swore the Cadiz Constitution at the College , the royalist clergy Simón Rodríguez Laso, who took the oath. This is the last relationship known between the Jesuits and College of San Clemente of the Spaniards, which until now no new was known. | ||

La ciudad de Bolonia, entonces en posesión de los pontífices, fue el lugar elegido por muchos de ellos y allí encontraron una institución española fundada por el cardenal don Gil de Albornoz varios siglos atrás, el colegio de San Clemente de los españoles. Durante años la relación del mundo jesuítico con el colegio hispano fue intensa y fluida, pero esta situación cambió debido a las órdenes regalistas de la Corte de España de quien dependía directamente. En este artículo se pretende dar a conocer esta relación y un hecho de singular importancia, hasta ahora desconocido: los pocos padres expulsos que aún quedaban en la ciudad en 1820 juraron la Constitución gaditana en el propio colegio y su rector, el clérigo regalista Simón Rodríguez Laso, fue quien tomó juramento a todos ellos. Este hecho es la última relación que se conoce de los jesuitas con el colegio mayor de San Clemente de los españoles, del que hasta ahora no se tenía noticia alguna. | ||
