| Summary: | Drawing from the experience around the creation and development of Granada University’s Chair of Theology, an important achievement in the history of Spanish theology, this article reflects on the challenges related to the presence of theology in the civil university. We can classify these challenges in four groups: religious, cultural, socio-political and academic challenges. This article wants to offer at the same time some orientations, fruit of our experience at the Chair, in order to face each one of these challenges. Finally, this article presents a synthesis of the benefits for theology and for the civil university that spring from the presence of theology in the civil academic world. This presence allows the university to be more what it ultimately is. A partir de la experiencia de la creación y desarrollo de la Cátedra de Teología de la Universidad de Granada, un hito importante en la historia de la teología en España, este artículo reflexiona sobre los desafíos de la presencia de la teología en la universidad civil. Podemos clasificar estos desafíos en cuatro grupos: desafíos religioso, culturales, socio-políticos y académicos. Este artículo quiere también ofrecer orientaciones para hacer frente a cada uno de los desafíos a partir de la experiencia de la Cátedra de Teología. Finalmente, el artículo hace una síntesis de los frutos para la teología y para la universidad que brotan de la presencia de aquella en el mundo académico. Esta presencia permite a la universidad ser más ella misma. |
