Summary: | By drawing on Hannah Arendt, Emmanuel Lévinas, and Italian feminist thought, this article discusses from both a theoretical and practical point of view the relationship between politics and narration. By analyzing the ways in which storytelling was at work in early Italian feminist consciousness raising groups, it claims that the narrative turn in feminism not only gave voice to new political subjects and their awareness, but also contributed to renewed notions of subjectivity, embodied self, the relation between self and other. |
