Description
Summary:The tria bona of the sacrament of marriage have been part of its essence since ever. True marriage does not exist when lacking fidelity, inissolubility or offspring motivated by the will of the spouses or even both. This indisputable reality has been well established throughout Church's doctrinal history. Although many authors have addressed this object over the centuries, St. Augustine shows clear evidence enlightened by the Holy Scripture, that the sacramental nature of marriage is intrinsically involved with these three goodnesses. Apart for sixteen centuries, the doctrine and the Holy Doctor argumentation are still alive and present giving us the right toola to undestand the importance of this issue and deepen the knowledge on marriage raised by Christ to sacrament when living in a society marked by a divorcist mentality. Throughout this article we will always make a bridge between the Augustinian doctrine, the sources of Sacred Scripture and Tradition, society and current experiences in order to conclude with no doubts about the true pillars of the sacrament of marriage
