| Summary: | Contrairement aux pays francophones, le concept de charité n’est pas connoté négativement dans les pays germanophones. Le débat entre charité et solidarité en France et en Allemagne, marqué par la sécularisation, n’a pas trouvé la même issue. Depuis la fin de la deuxième guerre mondiale, les évolutions des structures de charité de part et d’autre de la frontière franco-allemande sont marquées progressivement et de manière caricaturale par la professionnalisation d’un côté et le bénévolat de l’autre. Mais en Allemagne apparaissent deux courants : l’un dans la ligne de la doctrine sociale de l’Église et l’autre par le développement de la théologie-caritas (Caritas-theologie en allemand ou Caritas-Theology en anglais), articulant théorie et pratique et s’appuyant sur des références magistérielles distinctes et complémentaires. Unlike in French-speaking countries, the concept of charity does not have negative connotations in German-speaking countries. The debate between charity and solidarity in France and in Germany, two countries marked by secularisation, has produced different outcomes. Since the end of the Second World War, the evolution of structures of charity on both sides of the Franco-German border has been characterised increasingly and simplistically by professionalisation on the one hand and voluntary work on the other. In Germany, however, two tendencies have emerged: one is in line with the social doctrine of the Church and the other marked by the development of a “Caritas-theology” (Caritas-theologie in German), articulating both theory and practice and relying upon distinct and complementary magisterial sources. |
