| Summary: | The article presents a brief review of some of the most significant texts and interpretations of recent decades on the conciliar event. It also offers an overall evaluation of Vatican II, particularly its pastoral modus procedendi characterized by the reinterpretation of the great Christian tradition going back to Jesus of Nazareth in the new cultural contexts of humanity. This way of proceeding, that express a new paradigm qualified by the conciliar notion of pastorality, contributes to the updated construction of believing identities and ecclesial communities, as well as to the development of meaningful theologies in a dialogical logic defined by interculturality, and by the promotion of a postcolonial ecclesial scenario that succeeds the second millennium of Christianity. |
