| Summary: | This article poses a question for the message of hope that the Second Vatican Council sent to the world: What does this hope bestow upon history? Reviewing the Constitution Gaudium et Spes, especially GS 40-41, the eschatological dimension of the Church emerges as the source of its service to hope in the world. Revealing the eschatological destination of human life and history, as well as of labor, the Church manifests itself as being the «Universal Sacrament of Salvation». Este artículo se pregunta por el mensaje de esperanza que el Concilio Vaticano II lanza al mundo: ¿qué aporta la fe a la historia? Recorriendo la Constitución Gaudium et spes, especialmente GS 40-41, se descubrirá en la dimensión escatológica de la Iglesia la raíz de su servicio a la esperanza de la humanidad. Mostrando la finalidad escatológica de la vida humana y de la historia, y del trabajo, la Iglesia manifiesta su ser «sacramento universal de salvación». |
