Se examina la idea moderna de progreso y la promesa de un reino de Dios en la tierra, mediante un dominio creciente de la razón y el logro de una libertad perfecta. Se somete a crítica la idea de progreso indefinido, poniendo de relieve las ambigüedades y paradojas que genera. La mentalidad moderna ha influido en la concepción cristiana de la esperanza, que se ha centrado en exceso en el individuo olvidando su carácter social. Es preciso recuperar la verdadera fisonomía de la esperanza cristiana. | ||
