Summary: | The moderate direction of German Protestant Enlightenment theology is usually called Neology. This term has recently been raised as a problem. In order to pacify this conflict, this essay promotes a nominalistic use of church-historical order terms (Part I), reconstructs the history of the use of the word Neology (Part II) and, finally, makes a consensual proposal on how the term neology can be used pragmatically (Part III). |
