Très fermement patriote, elle polémique contre les Allemands, les protestants d'outre Rhin en particulier. Bien qu'elle soit théologiquement libérale et donc influencée par la théologie germanique, elle ne se s'interroge pas sur les liens éventuels entre les options doctrinales des théologiens libéraux allemands et leur appui inconditionnel aux thèses du gouvernement impérial allemand. During the war the Revue chrétienne experienced a time of hardship. The war naturally occupied most of its pages. It was firmly patriotic, and denounced the Germans, in particular the Protestants living beyond the Rhine. Although its theology was liberal and therefore influenced by German theology, it did not reflect on possible links between the doctrinal choices of liberal German theologians and their unconditional support for the German imperial government. Während des Ersten Weltkriegs machte die Revue Chrétienne schwierige Zeiten durch. Nach Lage der Dinge stand der Krieg im Mittelpunkt dieser protestantischen Zeitschrift, die sich ausdrücklich patriotisch positionierte und gegen die Deutschen – und insbesondere die Protestanten jenseits des Rheins – polemisierte. Obwohl die Zeitschrift in theologischer Hinsicht liberal und daher von der deutschsprachigen Theologie beeinflußt war, hinterfragte sie nicht die möglicherweise bestehenden Verbindungen zwischen der Lehre der liberalen deutschen Theologen und deren vorbehaltloser Unterstützung der Verlautbarungen der deutschen kaiserlichen Regierung. |
