| Summary: | L'aumônerie militaire protestante s'est trouvée confrontée à trois problèmes durant la guerre d'Algérie entre 1954 et 1962. Le premier est d'ordre théologique et concerne la légitimité du conflit : dans quelle mesure la présence de pasteurs dans l'armée représente-t-elle une caution du protestantisme français face à la guerre en Algérie ? Par ailleurs il y a l'enjeu pastoral de l'accompagnement des appelés protestants en service en Afrique du Nord. Enfin, il faut trouver suffisamment de pasteurs pour l'Algérie durant tout le conflit. Ces problèmes se ramènent à la question de la place et du rôle des Eglises dans l'armée au cours de la décolonisation. During the Algerian War (1954-1962), Protestant military chaplains found themselves confronted with three problems. The first was theological and questioned the legitimacy of the conflict : how far did the presence of Protestant chaplains in the army indicate that the French Protestant Church endorsed the war in Algeria ? The second concerned the pastoral care of those Protestants called to serve in North Africa. Finally, there was the need to find a sufficient number of Protestant ministers for Algeria during the conflict. These problems can be reduced to the question of the role and place of the Churches in the army during the period of decolonisation. Im Algerienkrieg (1954-1962) stand die protestantische Militärseelsorge vor drei Problemen. Das erste war theologischer Natur und war mit der Frage der Richtigkeit oder Unrichtigkeit jenes Konflikts verbunden. Inwiefern bedeutete nämlich die Beteiligung protestantischer Pfarrer an der Militärseelsorge im Algerienkrieg die Rechtfertigung des Konflikts durch den französischen Protestantismus ? Das zweite Problem, vor dem die protestantische Militärseelsorge damals stand, war pastoraler Natur und betraf die Betreuung der sich zum Protestantismus bekennenden in Algerien Wehrdienst leistenden Soldaten. Schlieelich stellte die Schwierigkeit, den Krieg lang die Gegenwart von genug Pfarrern in Algerien zu sichern, ein drittes und konkretes Problem dar. Diese drei Probleme gehören zum weiteren Problemkreis von Platz und Rolle der Kirchen im Heer im Kontext der Dekolonisation.
