Summary: | The International Carthusian Congress, which convened from 28 August until 1 September 2006, was held in honour of James Hogg, the founder and active editor of the Analecta Cartusiana. Hogg has probably done more than anyone else to further the study of the Carthusian order in modern times. There are over fifty separate contributions in these five (soon to be six) volumes, which contain many illustrations, particularly of Hogg and the international congresses over the years. From this large collection of papers, and other items submitted by scholars, the following contributions highlight the quality and scope of the material in this entire publication. |
