Summary: | Pope Francis challenges everyone to establish networks of solidarity to advance human dignity and the environment, respecting diversity. He considers the Amazon region as a theological locus. In connection with this, we know that Genesis 1:28 and its dominant interpretation has been for a long time used to justify human beings abuse of the natural world. This paper, through a reader-oriented intertextuality, with "light" and "darkness" as keywords, offers an alternative way of reading Genesis 1:1-2:3 with Job 29:1-25. This reading highlights differentiation as God's gift to creation and solidarity as a human task. |
