Description
Summary:Synodality is a distinctive characteristic of the Church and Pope Francis has invoked a conscious renewal of this aspect of being a Church by calling on all the people of God to a synodal journey. Characterized by listening and journeying together, synodality has received attention in the Church in Africa. Through the lens of A Pocket Companion of Synodality, written by African Catholics, one sees that on the continent, synodality is appreciated and theologies for building synodal churches are emerging. These emerging voices point to the need for a possible dynamic of rediscovering local wisdom as an enriching aspect of the process of synodality from and for Africa.
