Description
Summary:After an analysis of the Hebrew terminology pertaining to the topic of this essay and of the variations with respect to our idea of justice, the author examines both the evolution of the idea of justice in biblical and post-biblical times, and the extension of such an idea towards areas which – in our languages – would lead to a different semantic perspective. The assessment, therefore, also includes the ethical, not purely juridical dimension, the problem «which ethics» the Bible proposes. Lastly, it deals with the biblical topic that underlies the idea of justice, i.e. the notion of «neighbor» and of globality as solidarity of all things created.
