Summary:Evangelical Churches in Poland, i.e. Evangelical-Augsburg, Evangelical-Reformed, and Evangelical-Methodist, enjoy a far-reaching community of faith which enabled them to create a community of the altar and puplit. Also on theological level, they appreciate marriage in a similar way from an ethical and social perspective, but do not recognize it as a sacrament. This led to their willingness to accept civil law jurisdiction in a significant scope of marriage law, which is now visible in the absence of specific legal norms and recourse to civl law. And important element of the unification was also the impact of civil law effects which forced the adoption of specific legal norms. The specificity of the Evangelical Churches is also the admissibility of re-marriage, if the previous ones ceased as a result of divorce under state law, but on condition that an appropriate provisions regarding the difference of denomination of a potential clergyman's spouse and the requirement of the consent of the superior authorities to marry the clergyman. The Evangelical-Augsburg church has the most developed system of law, but also the Evangelical Reformed Church intends to codify ist own rules.
