Description
Summary:Pope Francis’ encyclical Fratelli Tutti starts from the fundamental principle that all people are called to fraternity. The Pope shows how we can speak – and operate – with other believers without hiding the particularities of our own testimony. In other words, Francis overcomes the dilemma between particularity and universality in a performative way, and this happens in a threefold approach. First, with the style of contemplation (as a form of knowledge); second, with the recognition that others may motivate themselves differently due to their commitment to human dignity (as a form of reflection); and third, with an anthropological vocabulary open to a specifically Christian emphasis (as a form of language).
