| Summary: | The article takes up the popular critique of a ‘democracy deficit’ in churches, and discusses current problems with this critique as well as its plausibility –theologically and sociologically. In this context a distinction between three “forms of knowledge” is applied, and an advanced theory of church (by H.-R. Reuter) is presented. Based on many years of participant observations of the ‘style’ of an exemplary ‘organized church’, the thesis is developed: The form of governance in a church is that of an ‘elected aristocracy’ which could be further ‘democratized’ – but at what price? Der Beitrag greift die populäre Kritik am ,Demokratie‘-Defizit der Kirchen auf und erörtert sowohl gegenwärtige Plausibilität wie Schwierigkeiten dieser Kritik, theologisch wie soziologisch. Dafür benutzt er eine Unterscheidung von drei „Wissensformen“, führt eine avancierte ,Kirchentheorie‘ (H.-R. Reuter) vor und entwickelt auf Grund langjährig teilnehmender Beobachtung des „Stils“ einer exemplarischen ,organisierten Kirche‘ die These: Die Leitungsformation der Kirche ist eine „Wahl-Aristokratie“ - weiter ,demokratisierbar‘, aber um welchen Preis? |
