| Summary: | This text copes with religious matters outside of the Faculties of Theology connected to religious traditions. The two approaches are different, but not incompatible; each of them implies a specific aim. In this perspective religious matters are dealt with inside the university as follows: 1) a whole reality to be known and incorporated into organized knowledge; 2) a phenomenon to be interpreted as a symptom of a specific social situation; 3) a field that enables us to think about fundamental human questions and social issues that are repressed in our homogenized postmodern societies.
