Summary: | This article re-reads personalized attention given to poor and abandoned youth, a central characteristic of the Preventive System of Don Bosco, in the light of conceptual paradigms of this special pedagogy, such as integration, inclusion, "special normal behaviors" and "special educational needs". The aim of this article is to encourage dialogue between several principles of the Salesian method with some instances of today's pedagogical discourse, bringing out helpful and practical proposals for educators today.
