| Summary: | The aim of this article is to reread the letter Iuvenum Patris by John Paul II, 30 years after its publication on 31, January 1988 on the Centenary of the death of St. John Bosco, Founder of the Salesian Family and Educator of the young. The paper highlights the relevance of the text and some new challenges of today's context that calls for the integration the interpretation of the Preventive System with some updated paradigms, in an original way, in the education of the new generations. The focus is therefore on the "first and fundamental cultural fact", as well as the fruit of the integral education, specific hallmark of the Preventive System, which John Paul II identifies in the letter as the formation of "the spiritually mature human being, that is, the fully educated person, a person capable of educating him/herself and educating others".
