Description
Résumé:In this paper I would like to suggest various ways in which “Digital Humanities” or “Humanities Computing,” could change the whole field of Thomas More Studies in the future. I will begin by discussing a couple of existing projects that I am already working on and go on to propose a couple of other potential projects, that are at the ideas or early planning stages, both of which would require extensive collaboration. These four projects are: 1) a TEI-encoded digital edition of Thomas More's English Poetry, 2) the International Thomas More Bibliography, 3) a proposal for a collaborative edition of Thomas More's Utopia including an extensive commentary, and 4) an electronic archive or database of all of Thomas More's “letters and papers,” including the trial documents and important contemporary references.
