Fifty-eight numbered full-page engravings by Cornelis Bloemaert chiefly after paintings by Abraham van Diepenbeeck. The source of nos. 9, 47, 50 is given in the plate as Pierre Brebiette, and according to Hollstein, nos. 10, 19, 32, 49, 52 & 53 are after Brebiette as well. Plate 31 depicting "Salmacis et Hermaphrodite" is usually a replacement by (François or Nicolas) Poilly, as Bloemaert's engraving was considered "trop libre"; see Brunet.
