Description
Summary:Many theology schools and departments tout their commitment to serving the common good and addressing pressing issues such as racism and white supremacy, environmental destruction, economic injustice, and fostering communities that respect the full diversity and range of identities of their members. Though commendable and necessary, such efforts to promote the common good and justice broadly in society are hypocritical and futile if theologians do not earnestly attempt to promote justice and the common good within the academy itself. Put another way, contemporary theology's turn to praxis needs to turn inward, toward theology's own institutional houses.
