| Summary: | Media coverage of violence against women can play an important role in raising awareness of this social problem and in finding solutions. Against this background, this article addresses guidelines and recommendations and develops them step by step. In this way, new practical impulses are developed which help with the question of how media can responsibly report on violence against women. The most frequently mentioned aspects are sensitive language, the classification of violence as an everyday and structural problem, references to help facilities, and the thematization of marginalized groups. These are placed in relation to current media reporting on the subject in Germany. Die Berichterstattung über Gewalt gegen Frauen in den Medien kann eine wichtige Rolle bei der Sensibilisierung für dieses gesellschaftliche Problem und bei der Suche nach Lösungen spielen. Vor diesem Hintergrund greift der vorliegende Beitrag Leitlinien und Empfehlungen auf und entwickelt diese schrittweise weiter. Dadurch werden neue praxisnahe Impulse erarbeitet, die bei der Frage helfen, wie Medien verantwortungsvoll über Gewalt gegen Frauen berichten können. Die am häufigsten genannten Aspekte sind eine sensible Sprache, die Einordnung von Gewalt als alltägliches und strukturelles Problem, Hinweise auf Hilfsreinrichtungen sowie die Thematisierung marginalisierter Gruppen. Diese werden in Bezug zur aktuellen medialen Berichterstattung in Deutschland gesetzt. |
