| Summary: | Con frecuencia, se ha presentado el Credo como una oración que los cristianos han de saber y recitar. Y ha sido menos frecuente presentarlo como una síntesis de la fe poseída, la fe sabida, la fe profesada. En realidad, esta segunda perspectiva es la que le corresponde desde sus orígenes, y cada cristiano, cada comunidad cristiana, ha expresado su fe con frases similares, parecidas, pero no siempre idénticas. Esto no es ruptura de la fe, sino riqueza de la expresión sincera. El examen de unos cuantos credos, más notables, permite una reflexión, al compararlos, y comprobar de cuántas maneras es posible manifestar la misma fe con fórmulas diferentes en sus frases, pero idénticas en su más honda entraña. Es la riqueza del patrimonio de los cristianos. The Creed has often been presented as a prayer that Christians must know and recite. Less frequently it has been presented as a synthesis of the faith possessed, the faith known, the faith professed. In reality, this second perspective is the one that corresponds to it since its origins, and every Christian, every Christian community, has expressed its faith with similar phrases, similar, but not always identical. This is not a rupture of faith, but a richness of sincere expression. The examination of a few of the more notable creeds allows us to reflect on them, comparing them, and to see how many ways it is possible to manifest the same faith with formulas that are different in their phrases, but identical in their deepest meaning. This is the richness of the Christian heritage. |
