Description
Summary:As we well know, normally each fascicule of Vetus Latina is 80 pages in length. This volume has an additional 48 pages added to its final (fifth) fascicule. That is reflected in the cost for each of the separated fascicules. The section marked on the cover as ‘Dn 13’ is in effect the section (now separate in the Old Testament Apocrypha in Protestant Bibles) known also as the ‘History of Susannah’ or as ‘Daniel and Susanna’—although the song of the three young men (known in the Apocrypha as the ‘Song of the Three Holy Children’) is often numbered as Daniel chapter 3, as it is here too. ‘Bel and the Dragon (or Snake)’ appears here in fascicule 5. That finale also includes a listing of the appropriate pages of the volume—but only the ‘Auteurs’ are found indexed here. There is (thankfully) a mere half page headed ‘Addenda et Corrigenda’. Verses may overlap the fascicule although the cover only starts with complete verses.
