Description
Summary:An evaluation of the Second Vatican Council forty years after its conclusion raises a question about its place in the history of Church’s Councils: Does it represent a continuity with a former model, or does it represent the start of a new stage? What are the criteria for its interpretation and reception? Having firstanswered these questions, and after a brief exposition of the main contents of the four constitutions (Dei Verbum, Lumen Gentium, Sacrosanctum Concilium, Gaudium et Spes), this article focuses on how their theological and pastoral proposals have been received.
