Summary:This descriptive, preliminary research was designed to identify qualities perceived to contribute to effectiveness in MK boarding school personnel by those most closely associated with boarding school experiences. The population consisted of 180 adult MKs, parents of MKs, and personnel currently working in MK boarding schools. Thirty-seven percent of those surveyed responded to a five-item questionnaire asking about skills, personality traits, and preparation deemed important for administrators, teachers, and houseparents who work with MKs. Five themes common to all groups and several position-specific characteristics for each of the sub-groups were identified.
