| Summary: | L'importance des protestants français dans l'entourage du général de Gaulle durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale est précisée à travers l'historiographie récente et des archives inédites, notamment celles du cabinet du général de Gaulle. 5% des membres des Forces Françaises Libres (F.F.L.) sont protestants et 2,5% des Compagnons de la Libération, pour une minorité évaluée à 1,8% des Français; ces ralliés à la cause de la France Libre appartiennent plutôt à la Haute Société Protestante, surtout parisienne. Le parcours de vingt personnalités protestantes auprès du général de Gaulle, à Londres et à Alger surtout, démontre toute la diversité des attitudes envers le chef de la France Libre: les inconditionnels, les déçus, les ralliés et les antigaullistes. Recent historiographical research, and the study of unpublished archives, in particular those from General de Gaulle's cabinet, reveal the important place occupied by French Protestants in the circles surrounding General de Gaulle during the Second World War. 5% of the members of Free French Forces (F.F.L.) and 2.5% of the Compagnons de la Libération, were Protestants, when the Protestant minority in general is evaluated at 1.8% of the French; those who joined the cause of Free France belonged in particular to the upper crust of Protestant society, notably from Paris. The careers of twenty Protestant individuals around the General, notably in London and Algiers, show the diversity of attitudes towards the leader of Free France: the totally committed, the disappointed, those who joined the cause late, and those opposed to the General. Die Rolle französischer Protestanten in dem Kreis um General Charles de Gaulle in der Zeit von 1940 bis 1944 ist durch neuere Forschungen bestätigt und anhand bislang unbekannten Archivmaterials präzisiert worden. Die Protestanten stellten 5% der «Forces Françaises Libres» (FFL), sowie 2,5% der sog. «Compagnons de la Libération», für einen Gesamtanteil von 1,8% in der französischen Bevölkerung. Die Anhänger der «France Libre» gehörten v.a. der sog. «Haute Société Protestante», insbesondere aus Paris und Umgebung. Am Beispiel zwanzig protestantischer Persönlichkeiten aus dem Kreis um de Gaulle wird das breite Spektrum möglicher Einstellungen gegenüber dem Gründer der «France Libre» dargestellt: unbedingte Treue, Enttäuschung, vernünftige Zustimmung, antigaullistische Feindschaft. |
