Description
Summary:Amy Nelson Burnett’s latest book fills an important gap in the scholarly literature on the early Reformation by providing a historical prelude to the eucharistic controversy which erupted towards the end of 1524 between Wittenberg and Zurich. This study focuses on Andreas Karlstadt, Luther’s early colleague and later antagonist, both as a catalyst for theological controversy and as a connecting link between late medieval eucharistic heresies and the eucharistic theologies of the emerging Protestant movements.
