| Summary: | La Codificación de 1917 significó un notable paso adelante en la ardua tarea de reorganizar y sistematizar la ingente cantidad de normas vigentes al tiempo del pontificado de Pío X. Aunque se intentó que fuese una reordenación del derecho canónico siguiendo el modelo del Codex justinianeo, en realidad por a vía de su aplicación y comentarios exegéticos posteriores, acabó pareciéndose a los códigos modernos de los diferentes Estados. En todo caso, y en el campo del derecho procesal, se introdujeron significativas mejoras para la tramitación de los procesos y la defensa de los derechos de los fieles. The Codification of 1917 signified a notable step forward in the arduous task of reorganising and systematising the huge number of laws that were in force at the time of the Pius X's term of office. Although it was intended as a realignment of Canon Law following the model of the Codex of Justinian, in reality, because of the way it was implemented and the subsequent exegetical commentary, it finished by appearing similar to modern codes of various States. Nevertheless, and in the field of procedural law, significant improvement were introduced for performing the processes and the defence of the rights of the faithful. |
