| Summary: | The present note relates to a study by Oded Tammuz on concluding transactions on a Sabbath in Elephantine, Āl-Yāḫūdu and Bīt-Našar. The note points out that ignoring the Egyptian dates of the Elephantine papyri impairs Tammuz’s discussion, and calls into question his distinction between the alleged Judean-majority population of Āl-Yāḫūdu and Judean-minority population of Bīt-Našar. Also, the Julian dates of some tablets were miscalculated by Tammuz; the correct date of one Āl-Yāḫūdu tablet from Nabonidus’ reign falls on a Sabbath. Cette note renvoie à l’étude d’Oded Tammuz sur la possibilité de conclure des transactions un jour de Sabbat à Eléphantine, Āl-Yāḫūdu et Bīt-Našar. La note signale qu’ignorer les dates égyptiennes des papyri d’Eléphantine compromet l’analyse de Tammuz et met alors en question sa distinction opérée entre une population judéenne supposée majoritaire à Āl-Yāḫūdu et minoritaire à Bīt-Našar. De plus, les datations en jours juliens de certaines tablettes ont été mal calculées par Tammuz; en effet, la date correcte d’une des tablettes d’Āl-Yāḫūdu datant du règne de Nabonide tombe un jour de Sabbat. Der vorliegende Beitrag bezieht sich auf eine Studie von Oded Tammuz zu Vorgängen am Sabbat in Elephantine, Āl-Yāḫūdu und Bīt-Našar. Die Notiz weist darauf hin, dass die Argumentation von Tammuz daran leidet, dass sie die ägyptischen Angaben der Elephantine-Papyri unberücksichtigt lässt, und stellt seine Unterscheidung zwischen der mutmaßlichen jüdischen Mehrheitsbevölkerung von Āl-Yāḫūdu und der jüdischen Minderheitsbevölkerung von Bīt-Našar in Frage. Auch die julianischen Angaben einer Tafel wurden von Tammuz falsch berechnet. Das korrekte Datum einerĀl-Yāḫūdu-Tafel aus Nabonidus’ Regierungszeit fällt auf einen Sabbat. |
