Against this background, the article introduces the work of American theologian John Howard Yoder, presents his understanding of the Christian church as a socially embodied tradition, outlines some central aspects of his understanding of the life of the Church with the biblical Scriptures, and lastly discusses an important consequence of his hermeneutic position. |
