The first is that the form in which the teaching of Jesus is delivered is determined by two factors: the kind of audience addressed, and the period in the ministry - either before or after Peter's confession. The second is that the key to the contents of the teaching is the prophetic notion of the Remnant: that 'the Son of Man' in the teaching represents Jesus' formulation of the Remnant ideal; and that he is the Son of Man by embodying that ideal in his own person. |
