Description
Summary:The post-synodal Apostolic Exhortatio Amoris laetitia is a deepening and renewal of the Church's teaching on marriage and its pastoral perspective. Thus, this renewal is less of a substantial change in ecclesiastical doctrine than a reflection on the mission of ecclesiastical teaching according to the gospel of Gods compassion. Francis applies the divine logic of compassion as a standard for teaching, life and pastoral care, considering realistic possibilities for married couples first instead of looking for deficiencies in their relationship, which stand in marked contrast to the Church's doctrine.
