Der vorliegende Band vereint Porträts jüdischer Frauen in Brandenburg-Preußen und ihren Weg zur Selbstemanzipation in Religion, Kultur und Gesellschaft. Im Fokus stehen Repräsentantinnen der Kunst, der Literatur, der Politik, des Gemeinwesens. Allen gemein war der Kampf um das Recht auf Selbstbestimmung und gesellschaftliche Gleichstellung als Frau und als Jüdin. Die Beiträge spannen einen Bogen von der Aufklärung bis zur Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts und verfolgen u.a. den Einfluss der Salonièren auf das kulturelle Berlin, die wachsende weibliche Mitsprache in Politik und Gesellschaft sowie den Vorstoß dieser bemerkenswerten Frauen in traditionelle Männerdomänen. |
