| Summary: | Gnosis, Enlightenment and today's literature show the suspicion that God is the moral cause for the Fall of Man. This criticism resembles the position of the serpent in paradise. But the assumption of a "Fall of modern age" in conjunction with criticism against autonomy, seems also to resemble the position of the snake exaggerating the prohibitions of paradise. But anti-theistic suspicions cannot be refuted successfully only by declaring them as consequences of the Fall of Man. Rather the question 'Why did God put a forbidden tree into paradise?' needs to be answered. |
