| Summary: | One of the most surprinsing features of generative artificial intelligences is their apparent ability to speak - that is, to construct sequences of words that "resemble", or rather simulate, so-called natural language. And yet some critics argue that despite the wonder-inducing effect, the technological reality remains far from aproximating the level of understanding and the attendant degrees of complexity and potential for ambiguity that characterize human speech. Now, while such considerations may reassure those who wish to preserve a specifically human cultural privilege in terms of understanding and expressing reality, they also shed light on an issue opened up by AI: the emergence of a way of representing the world based purely on text. Here there are presented several of the theories, and some of the philosophical speculation, engaged in the conversation about the question of the "linguistic differences" embedded in such models of representation, in the attempt to map, as it were, some fo the most contentious points in the area of the human-AI dialogue. Una de las características más sorprendentes de la inteligencia artificial generativa es su aparente capacidad para hablar, es decir, para construir secuencias de palabras que se asemejan o, mejor dicho, simulan el llamado lenguaje natural. Sin embargo, según sostienen varios críticos, a pesar del efecto sorpresa, la realidad tecnológica está muy lejos de acercarse a la compresión y aplicación de los niveles de complejidad y ambigüedad que existen en las expresiones humanas. Así, si bien por un lado estas consideraciones pueden tranquilizar a quienes desean mantener un privilegio específico y cultural del ser humano en términos de comprensión y expresión de la realidad, por otro lado arrojan luz sobre una cuestión que vale la pena abordar para mantenerse al día con los problemas éticos y filosóficos que plantea la IA: la aparición de una forma de representar el mundo basada puramente en el texto. En esta intervención se presentarán algunas de las teorías y especulaciones filosóficas que dialogan en torno a la cuestión de las "diferencias lingüísticas" inscritas en dichos modelos de representación, con el objetivo de intentar trazar algunos de los puntos más controvertidos en el ámbito de diálogo entre humanos e IA |
