| Summary: | With the exception of the eponymous priesthoods of dynastic cults, the royal priesthoods of the Hellenistic period have been scarcely explored in modern research. Moreover, they have often been the subject of hasty generalizations, which have led to their systematic interpretation as positions of power involving close relationships with ruling authorities. This contribution aims to reassess the nature of these functions by examining the different modes of appointment of royal priesthoods and the type of missions of their officiants. The analysis of the perquisites and obligations linked to the tenure of a royal priesthood also sheds light on the integration of royal honors into the pantheons of Greek cities, from the perspective of the individuals who serve these cults. À l’exception des prêtrises éponymes des cultes dynastiques, les prêtrises royales de l’époque hellénistique ont été peu étudiées par la critique moderne. En outre, elles ont souvent fait l’objet de généralisations hâtives, qui ont conduit à les interpréter systématiquement comme des positions de pouvoir impliquant des relations étroites avec les instances dirigeantes. Cette contribution vise à réévaluer la portée de ces fonctions à la lumière des modalités par lesquelles les officiants parviennent à la charge, et de la nature des missions qui leur incombent. L’analyse des prérogatives et des honneurs qui accompagnent l’exercice d’une prêtrise royale permet également d’éclairer l’intégration des honneurs royaux dans les panthéons des cités grecques, sous l’angle des officiants qui desservent ces cultes. |
